Most of these specialty drinks will be familiar to you, but we bet you haven’t paired one with any of our recommended Plaza dishes. Take a look at our suggestions below. 

Here’s a full run down on what we have on our specialty drink menu and pick one to order along with the recommended dish. Any of these options will be a true Tex-Mex treat if you can take a leap of faith in us!

Cheladas

A Chelada is simply cerveza with an added splash of lime and served in a salt-rimmed glass (like a margarita!). It’s a simple way of dressing up your favorite beer. The splash of lime will give the beer a distinct kick while the salt will crank up the volume with each sip you take. 

Recommended From Our Menu: Anything!

The beauty of cheladas is that it’s nothing more than your favorite beer, with a few more dressings. Try your chelada with anything and everything on the menu, you can’t go wrong here. 

Michelada

A Michelada is the Mexican twist on a bloody mary, with beer instead of vodka. It’s served with lime juice, chili-based sauces, spices, and tomato juice in a salt-rimmed glass. When it comes to making a Michelada, the different flavors and ingredients you can use are endless! At the Plaza, we’ve got our own secret combination of spices and sauce to go into our Micheladas, and it’s absolutely delicious.

Micheladas taste heavenly when paired up with a pork dish. There’s something about the tomato and beer that seem to be a fantastic complement to the distinct, yet mellow flavor of pork.

Recommended From Our Menu: Chili Verde

Our Chili Verde dish is full of rich and savory flavor. It’s a plate of tender pork carnitas simmered in our homemade green tomatillo chile sauce and served with guacamole salad. The warm flavor won’t break you out into a sweat when you’ve got an ice cold Michelada to go with it.

Coronarita

The Coronarita is a mixture of our house margarita and a bottle of Corona. It’s the perfect drink for a hot summer day. The crisp and refreshing profile of the Corona and sweetness of the margarita means that this is definitely the drink you want to order when you’re choosing a spicy dish.

Recommended From Our Menu: Spicy Cheese Sticks

Try a Coronarita with this appetizer and you’ll get a kick out of all the flavors! The Corona balances out the spiciness while still remaining light enough to be enjoyed with the punch of cheese. 

Dos-A-Rita

Dos Equis + Margarita = Cold Heaven. This powerhouse lager and margarita combination is excellent to have with tacos. There’s something about this pairing that really gets the fiesta going.

Recommended From Our Menu: Laredo Tacos

Really, you could pair up a Dos-A-Rita with any taco plate, but our classic Laredo Tacos just seem to hit the spot. With this dish, you’ll have crispy or soft tortillas filled with your choice of ground beef or shredded chicken then topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. Served with your choice of two sides. No frills, no muss, no fuss, just Tacos. 

Lunarita

Our Lunarita is a curious combination of Blue Moon and our mango margarita that is sure to win your heart and taste buds. This light Belgian white ale is perfect for a seafood dish. It’s light enough that it won’t overpower the delicate flavors of fish while the margarita ensures that you keep in with the Tex-Mex experience. 

Recommended From Our Menu: Tilapia Veracruz

A Lunarita and our Tilapia Veracruz is, without a doubt, a perfect late lunch pairing! This dish is a tilapia filet served with three grilled jumbo shrimp topped with a fresh tomato or cream sauce and topped with cheese. This light and flavorful meal also comes with white rice and sautéed vegetables.
